MINTZ

In early 2016 MINTZ released their debut album, titled ‘Pulse of our Planet’, made in full length with analogue gear in the intention to bring to the audience a conceptual idea that will drift them off during the listening.

‘Pulse of our Planet’ supported by several major artists like - Dubspeeka, Colin McBean (Mr G), Luigi Madonna, Sam Paganini, Gameboyz, James Teej, Laurent Garnier, Simone Giudici, Martin and Voytek Korab.

Review by Davide Pardini,

"Lately Tsinoshi Bar spoils me, I have rarely review of new releases that I did not like, usually the quality of
the audio material that I listen to is medium to high, but in this case the quality is very high, so high to find
myself in front of one of the most beautiful albums I have ever written about. I'm talking about MINTZ: duo
of young Israelis, specifically Eden Cohen and Rami Shalom, who, without knowing them personally, or in
a particularly thorough way, I would consider "absolute geniuses".
"Pulse of our Planet" is the name of their new album released with the independent label Exotic
Refreshment: 10 tracks - and excuse me if I am being repetitive, but this album is an unprecedented trip -
ranging from electronics to ambient, from house sounds and deep house, techno with a refined, deep,
dark and ubiquitous soul to season all. The work of the young producers is superb, I would not criticize
any track, I could even conceive a DJ set where to put them all without ever be monotonous to the ears
of unsuspecting occupants of the dance floor.
At times psychedelic, at times spiritual, each track is characterized by its groove, the imprint of the artists
is present and it is never taken for granted - as can often happen in productions of this kind - so as to
make each episode different. If I had to elect a queen I would say "Shin Mun", I would like to hear the
groove that produces played by a sound system of respect, but simply listening through headphones
you understand what it is made of: captivating sound, slow, round and rich synth, the restarts are creepy.
"Pulse of Our Planet", gives the name to the disc and it reminds me of the progressive of 2009/2010,
while maintaining a straight speaker sometimes distorted, characteristic of Mintz. "Titan" is eternal, in every
sense: more than ten minutes of track where everything revolves around the noise, the dirt of the analog,
the bass coming in shy and suddenly explodes into a warm sound, perfectly blended with a succession
of sounds carefully selected and inserted.
You can dance it, swinging in the middle of the dance floor with your eyes closed, or listen to it while
studying Mathematics, and it will always result in a pleasant experience, fine and soft listening."
