London based music producer and DJ.
Born in Russia, Anya Gerasimova aka Bompe then moved to the UK to complete her university degree at Durham. An individual of both cultural and musical diversity, she grew up listening mainly to Indie music. By spending her university years at the UK, Anya started to experiment with listening to a variety of dance music. Varying from dubstep, dub, dnb, house, garage to Reggae in the aim of finding her own unique versatile music style. With music becoming a prominent passion in her life, Anya decided to move to London to explore her musical interests. Further adding to her musical palette, Anya became a regular raver in London as she fell in love with dance music and the whole club culture surrounding it. She especially enjoyed raving at Cable, becoming a tremendous fan of dubstep and dnb at that point.
With her musical passion booming, she followed her friend's advice and decided to take up djing. By getting her Technics 1210, she decided to make a name of herself by initially starting to DJ at house parties and small events under the alias "Bompe". With her trend of successes progressing in the djing platform, Bompe decided to get into music production thereby taking a course at the distinguished London music college PointBlank. Once the online course was completed, she started experimenting with creating beats that resulted in her getting an official release only a year ago with the Pops and Crackles label. By being a truly all-around dj, Bompe's music style consists of a pure house sound with heavy bass lines and soulful vocals. She cites that her individual style is inspired by Chicago, 90s classical house and London underground sounds.
