JAE

Jae is a vocalist/poet and aspired photographer born Jessica-Paulette Williams in The City of Roses, Bloemfontein on the 18th December in the late 90's.
Coming from a family of color she finds it easy to speak other languages although English is her home language. Her love for spoken word and language originates from music and arts. As a teenager she found it difficult to communicate with her peers which resulted in her spending most of her time reading books and singing. In primary school she found enough confidence within herself to finally raise her voice and sing. She was then known as a "powerhouse of dynamite package".
In her early high school career she discovered her love for Deep House Music and later ventured into Neo-Soul listening mostly to Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, The Muffins as well as Lauryn Hill.
In 2014 she met Magik Deep, founder of Ababili Recordings, on social media and the magic began.
In the words of Jae herself, "Music is one universal language that doesn't need to be understood because it naturally demands to be felt".
