CANDICE MCKENZIE

Candice McKenzie is an award-winning DJ and a Radio Presenter. She has been DJing since 1999 and specialises in Gospel House & Inspirational House Music although she can extend to other genres including Garage, Club, and Dance.

Her passion, determination, drive, and positive attitude have led her to win two BEFFTA awards, judge the Eurovision Song Contest, and be named as one of "20 Black UK House acts that you should know about" by MixMag Magazine.

Candice presents "The Sanctified Selection" and "Saturday Night with Candice McKenzie" on Premier Gospel, the UK's Number 1 Gospel Music Radio Station.

She also presents"Get Your Praise On" and "Afternoon with Candice McKenzie" (Sunday) on sister station Premier Praise.

In 2019 Candice was diagnosed with a kidney disease called IgA nephropathy, also known as Berger's disease. In 2022 this developed into kidney failure and as part of her ongoing treatment, Candice started dialysis to maintain her life as she waits for a kidney transplant.

Candice is an advocate for kidney donation in the Black British African and Caribbean communities. She writes about kidney disease, donation and transplant, and is regularly booked as a guest on TV and radio shows to offer advice and share her experience to empower and educate others.
