TONICVOLTS
Born on the 1st of January 1992, Senzo "TonicVolts" Mhlongo grew up in Newlands West in Durban Kwa-Zulu Natal, TonicVolts started off as a local dancer forming groups with friends and competing with other groups from different parts of Durban before branching off to music production.
He was then introduced to a software known as Fruity Loops by a friend and was interested in knowing how to create his own sounds using the software. It was part of his own creativity of dance that he wanted to make his own unique music that people could dance to.
When he moved from (Newlands) to (Pinetown) an area part of Durban, he joined an Entertainment Label called Blackroof Entertainment with Djs : Dj Mzansi , Saneristo, Soykos, Dj Tempo and Manqoba (Exothermic Sounds), this was a label where he gained a lot of knowledge & experience around music and how to present himself and manage himself as an artist.
In the year 2011 he joined forces with a close friend and started a project called KoshaRoots, KoshaRoots started off as a digital record label on Afrodesia.com, as the years went by TonicVolts started releasing music on traxsource.com as a duo KoshaRoots with his duo partner, TonicVolts as (Kosha Roots) released music under a South African digital record label called Anarchy Music located in Johnnesburg, he also done remixes for an Afro House DUO called Oral Deep under this label and also released Two Ep projects called Dance to Dreams & Colours.
After a year TonicVolts gained recognition from international Afro House artists like Aluku Rebels, Hayenah and more underground Djs from around the globe , mostly from the United Kingdom (London) and the United States (New York). As KoshaRoots he also started gaining more recognition from local South African producers, he released a project as KoshaRoots by him being behind production on the Uthando EP in December 25/2015 which had a remix done by the well respected N'dhinga Gaba and a single called Place Of Origin which was released on MoBlack Records under project name (Definition of MoBlack Sound) on the Vol. 3 compilation of the project.
TonicVolts has joined forces with De Cave Man and go by the name of De Cave Man & TonicVolts, they've released quality material under highly respected labels such as (MoBlack Records, Iklwa Brothers Music, Gallo Records & Vida Records) and also working with South Africa's most talented vocalists with singles featuring (Toshi & Zipho).
