'Kò Kò' reappears with a 'Jehlaz' B-side for another blinding collaboration from Sydenham and Ferrer.A true friendship always seems to be the basis for collaboration in any field. A mutual respect can strengthen it and like-minded taste can solidify it. Jerome Sydenham and Dennis Ferrer have yet again proven again that it is absolutely no fluke that hits are made when these two hit the studio together.
Jerome and Dennis showcase their love for fine-tuned percussion with the clanging and banging 'KóKó'. Together with Dominique Kanza and Doug Hinrichs on guitar and percussion respectively, they combine atmospheres of tribal and indigenous spirits with an unmatched fluidness. This version differs however, as it features the full vocal from Alain Nkossi Konda.
'Jehlaz', is Jerome and Dennis' take on the Latin House that was taking NYC by storm at the turn of the century. Flutes, castanets, swathes of washes and an enigmatic bass guitar bass line, were all trademarks of the sound, but these boys have instead used the required elements of this particular brand of House as tools to stamp on their own personal trademark.
