Third Son’s concept label, Polymath, has already seen household names such as Einmusik and Marc Depulse head releases, alongside breakthrough artists, Pete Oak and Rafael Cerato. “Soul”, the third theme in the series, brings us interpretations from Finnebassen, Jonas Saalbach & Tschoris, and Habischman.
Finnebassen leads the release with a stripped back and heads-down affair. Gliding synths enter to draw the listener in before climaxing to reveal only the bass elements and energetic hats.
Jonas Saalbach & Tschoris present a progressive interpretation of ‘Soul’. Disconnected guitar plucks add intrigue while the rhythmic bass line and percussion maintain the stamina on the floor.
Global Underground’s Habischman completes the release with a dark, arpeggiated take on the theme. Gregorian chants add atmosphere throughout and melancholic synth melodies bring drama. ‘Soul'
