Hailing from its mothership label Circus Recordings, Yousef resurfaces his supplementary outlet Carioca Records with a much more musical approach. Unlike Circus, Carioca is designed to be less of a reflection of Yousef's DJ sets, but rather opening up a wider musical latitude, offering an opportunity to release more hypnotic house and techno, not always aimed the DJ's, but instead the music enthusiast.
James Slaven began producing little over a year ago after being schooled at the prestigious Soma Skool run by the legendary Soma Records. After DJing across the UK for over a decade, he began producing, a skill which came naturally.
In 2015, Slave released his debut EP 'The Coin Toss' on Under No Illusions in April which was supported by Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and Moodymanc. His second EP 'This is a Test!' on Blacksoul Music. Slave's track 'Heads' was featured in the Tech House Top 10 Must Listen chart on Beatport and also in the Staff Picks section.
