Revered Berlin-based, New Zealand-born producer Emerson Todd has announced he is to return to Davide Squillace's This And That imprint with new four-track EP Brown Glass, ahead of its release on June 1st. Set to be the first in a new series of nine EPs, each of which is geared towards encouraging artists to get involved with the creative processes behind releasing each record, Brown Glass is a testament to This And That's fluid and dynamic approach to curation. With Emerson asked to provide his own original image, word and colour to accompany the EP, Brown Glass immediately feels all the more personal and engaging. With lead track Careless proving a glossy, percussive masterclass in dance floor dynamics, the excellent Say works a darker, harder groove, perpetuated by eerie, pitched-down vocal loops that add a mysterious quality to Emersons remit. On remix duties, Rumors affiliate Lancaster turns a darker hand to Careless, while veteran Circoloco resident Sossa adds colour and bounce to flipside Say.
