Turn It Up

Will Clarke

Dirtybird
DB128 | 2015-11-06
The DIRTYBIRD crew havent even had time to take their counsellor uniforms to the dry cleaners post-Campout, but already theyre dishing out more bulletproof slabs of future-flexed acid house. Will Clarke mans the controls: Making his Dirtybird debut in January with 'Badness' on DIRTYBIRD 10, follwing up with 'The Boogie Woogie' EP and lazer-snapping '808Frenzy' on 'DIRTYBIRD BBQ - Grill$ons Revenge' collection, the bristly Bristol-based spandex enthusiast has enjoyed a beautiful summer with releases on Defected, Emerald City and Turbo and unforgettable shows across the US, Australia and Europe. Returning to the label with the bulbous two-track EP 'Turn It Up,' Clarke does just that: Writhing in carnal groove simplicity, he taps into the roots of timeless, low-down, butt-wriggling house music with three obscene examples of strong-armed tech funk. 'Can You Funk' punches with Breach-level hookiness, and Turn It Up does the loopy-loop with Dirtybirds trademark vocal trippiness. Keep it turned: Will Clarke has been one of 2015s most exciting and authentic house music success stories. We can thank DIRTYBIRD for that. Stay tuned for more very soon...
