Museek is about to deliver its release number 008 on a limited edition cassette tape featuring six tracks by music enthusiast Simone Lanza who has collected all his efforts in his main, prolific, producing project: Waxlife is a musical journey into real life devotion, mixing solid grooves and authentic experiences with an impressive aptitude.
New Adventures In Lo-Fi EP is mostly based on a rétro electronic (apparently) lo-fi concept, garnished with oldschool street breakbeats and timeless abstract whispers. All these resounding hip-hop shaped, even without being like this at all.
Starting with Dark Path, it immediatly expresses album's guidelines, even without revealing manifestly all the moods you'll go through. 80s synths evoke some kind of masterpieces of Warp galaxy fusing themselves to fat, oldschool rythmics. The album goes on with Between Us, a little treat imbued with both airy and melancholic Ninja Tune flavors, dotted with placid caribbean recalls. Hope is an almost pop-mystical electronic ode to higher states of mind doped by classical and gloomy incomings. Data Breaks embodies the most dance oriented track, resounding as a very italian housey stuff from the early 90s, enriched by juicy 80s pleasures ' among synths and fluid vocoders. New Wave Is Dead switches off dance alerts, combining ambient sound-landscapes and dark atmospheres straight up to gothic echoes. To end up this complex, dark and, at the same time, very seductive and electropop shaped album, Machines represent a return to familiar and funky breakbeats, made up with groovy bass , vocoder sound modulations and street beats. A perfect 'happy end' for a short, but so much impressive, emotional and evocative trip into new (lo-fi) adventures.
Last but not least, the newborn collab with d406 ' fedeli alla linea gallery, with its artists selection for the graphical part of our releases, starting with the minimalist vector aesthetics of CT, who cuts his works on typographic forms, deconstructing them into a bold and uniform shape. Less is more.
