It's been an incredible year for Motech with huge releases by the likes of Gary Martin, Satoshi Fumi, Nathan Surreal, Mikael Klasson, Lionel Weets and MadBen, as well as securing remixes from leaders in their field such as Robert Hood, Mark Broom and Rolando to name just a few, and this Detroit label is showing no let-up with its latest release from Samuel L Session.

Samuel has been at the forefront of the electronic music scene since the `90s with releases on Music Man, Figure, Soma and Be As One (who also released his debut album in 2009), amongst others. Not content with only releasing for other people's labels, he had already launched his own Solid Beat imprint by 1995, followed by Cycle two years later and SLS in 2001. By 2006 it was time for a new challenge and Klap Klap was born, which continues to this day.

His latest EP sits well within the Motech camp, delivering some tough techno workouts that still have just the right amount of funk and groove.

`Fat Wiggler' comes in two guises, the Dust Mix which delivers some perfect old-school house keys and claps over its stomping techno beat, giving it Chicago-style flavour and the deeper Body Mix which takes it into darker warehouse territory but still retains the warmth. Final track, `Granular' is a stripped-back affair with its pounding rhythms and recurring synth hook.
