Sidetrak are very pleased to welcome two very good friends to our family that is: Black & Tolley, the production moniker of friends and musical partners Wally Black and Grant Tolley. These two DJ / producers hailing from the North East of England are currently making waves with their distinctive music production and DJ sets!
Both of them have stamped a firm imprint on Middlesbrough house music scene for the last 15 years, holding down various residencies at the areas best clubs. Wally Black, the founder of the uber-cool underground house music parties "RIGHT-ON" has cut his skills alongside Grant Tolley with some of the best DJs in the business. The likes of Dan Ghenacia, Adam Shelton, Robert Dietz, Chris Carrier, Buckley and Jordan Peak are just the tip of the iceberg! Wally has had releases on Celestial Recordings / Ritual Music / Dance Lab Miami and now Sidetrak Records.
The EP represents their DJ style as upfront and techy! Back 'n Forth is a minimal techy track with slow, steady build ups and a driving bassline. This track is deeply underground! 'You Know' is a tribal 'almost-techno' style house track. With its pitched down spoken section, female vocal stabs and subtle synth phrases, this track could easily grace the floors of Berlin's finest clubs and beyond!
