Next up on the ever excellent deep house label that is Underground Audio is returning Geordie native, Cristoph. Cristoph is CJ Costigan, a prolific producer who already boasts credits for the likes of Noir Music, Suara and Defected’s sister label, DFTD.

The Walkout EP is a true musical journey that really drags the listener straight to the dancefloor. Full of lush electronics, soulful synths, sad chords and subtle beats, it’ll leave an impression wherever it’s dropped. Opener ‘The Ritual’ is a banging affair that’s made for the more dizzying stage of the night, whereas the title track is a little more upbeat still thanks to its spiky synths ditty drum patterns.

Final track, Keep’n On is another drama and tension-fuelled effort, with this one characterised by its sultry male vocal and its big-room baseline vibes. This is another accomplished effort from an experienced talent who really manages to bring a whole world of influences to the table. With upcoming efforts including remixes on Yoshitoshi and Polydor (where he’ll remix the mighty Elbow) as well as a remix of the classic Junior Jack track, ‘E Samba’, these are heady times indeed for one of the UK’s favourite contemporary house acts.
