Relentless

Monojoke

Aethereal
ATRL005 | 2015-04-20
Already on it's fifth release, Aethereal presents a lighthearted look into the nuances of progressive house with none other than the Polish legend, Monojoke. Monojoke has been influencing the progressive scene since the mid 00's, putting his timeless sounds on Proton Music, Spring Tube, Silk Digital Records, Mistique Music, Arrival, OLD SQL, Stellar Fountain Records, Nueva Deep, and Electronic Tree to name just a few. In his Day Mix of Relentless, Monojoke seemingly channels a quiet island beach where the waves of a soft, thrumming bass line topped with foamy synthed marimbas gently laps against a brilliantly crafted hand percussion line while gusts of airy pads cool the listener through a sunset of plucked golden strings. After the sun drops behind a veil of heavier percussion, creatures of the Night Mix come out play in a sultry redux where echoed out synth keys dance unabashedly in a place that civilization nary utters a sound and a warbling woodwind beckons to continue deeper through the dusk and into the darkness. Christopher Hermann picks up the torch with a booming bass kick leading the listener deeper into the night in a thrilling composition that blends the light, airy feeling of the Day Mix and the driving tribal-esque sound of the Night Mix perfectly, urging the listener to dance until dawn. As dawn draws near, Shane Robinson carries the on the rhythm with a rolling, progressive house bass line that accentuates a pounding kick, swirling atmospheric pads and crisp hats. Dustin Nantais gathers everyone around to close out the night on a softer note where the melody magically morphs between jazzy organ, hammered bass, and jaw dropping indescribable synthesized sounds that summon the already rising sun. After all that, it's going to be a good day.
