In 2002 MoreHouse Records debut release “Inside My Soul” was supported by industry heavyweights such as Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Louie Vega & Marques Wyatt to name a few.
Now 13 years later it gets ’Reworked’ with the deft touch of Swiss producer Terry Lex and Groove Junkies’ Evan Landes who’s riding the momentum from his chart topping remix of Spiritchaser’s “Conch” in late 2014 and recent collaboration with Michele Chiavarini & Carolyn Harding titled “Play,” which peaked at #3 on Traxsource.com’s Top 100 Soulful Chart in Feb. 2015. On the ’rework’ of “Inside My Soul,” GJs venerable front man once again displays the versatility of seasoned artist who still has his finger on the pulse of modern dance music.
Terry Lex is no stranger to House music either. He has worked in A&R, as a DJ, producer and studio engineer since the early 90’s and has had many top releases on some of the hottest dance labels in the scene including Milk & Sugar, Zulu, Soul Heaven, Duffnote, Liquid Deep, Tactical and Discopolis amongst many others! In 2014 and early 2015 Terry and long time partner Matt Caseli scored Top 10 and Top 15 hits with their amazing cover of Underworld’s “Born Slippy,” and an original titled “We Fade” which was co-penned & co-produced by Evan. Mr. Lex is the founder of Push On Music and has collaborated with many amazing Artists including Kenny Bobien, Peven Everett, L.T. Brown, Marc Evans & many more.
Evan and Terry have delivered 2 no nonsense mixes that are road tested and primed to do some serious damage on a variety of dance floors. Phat analogue bass, stabby synth chords and 808 / 909 beats provide the foundation for Solomon’s incredible vocal. On the Vocal Rework the fellas only use the best of the best lead adlibs and chorus from the original and have eliminated the verses with amazing results. On the Dub Rework the boys use even less vocals and take a more repetitive and trippy approach with the vocals. The chopped up bass and org combo give things a more hypnotic, dubby feel. Both mixes hit the mark so choose at your own peril!
