Australian DJ and Producer, Filter Bear has seen unprecedented success through 2014, including two top 10 tracks in the Beatport Chillout Chart as part of a healthy catalogue of releases across the year.

As we head into 2015, Butter EP perfectly showcases Filter Bear's keen ear for deep, progressive soundscapes. The title track has beautifully understated drums, allowing the rich piano hook to take centre stage and to really set the mood for the whole release. Long term friend of the label, Simon Firth offers a more groove-led interpretation with chunkier drums. This clever rework switches up the core components; tucking in the hook and bringing the orchestral strings further forward in the mix to create greater intensity, especially in the breakdown.

Nine Eight is a Deep House/Chillout hybrid also with lush piano keys at it's core; this time a fuller melody in place of a hook. Some tasty percussion work helps carry the track and it's listener nicely along on a warm and fuzzy journey. Berlin-based Bin Okin turns in a stellar remix; rebuilding the orchestral arrangement on a Minimal Techno foundation, which presents a more dance floor friendly departure from the original.
