Abstract Space Records proudly welcomes back Hungarian producer John Drummer for its 30th release. John, who's recent part 2 of Forgetting Things has been lighting up the progressive scene, brings us a masterful tug of war between his silky smooth organic percussion lines and hard edged synths in three epic progressive tracks. In first track of the release, My Memory, John starts out with engaging hand percussion that quickly evolves into a frenzy of grungey synth hits that underlie light and airy pads before dropping out into a massive break where the synthesizer almost seems to morph into the sound of a muted voice beckoning the oncoming storm. A huge crashing thunder clap launches the energetic bass riff of the second track, The Earth, into a long escalating build seductively flirting with a driving kick and hat line all the way into the break when a second peal of thunder ushers in a fantastic 303 lead that sticks with the listener all way through the end of the track. The final track of the release, Never Give Up, starts out a bass kick that almost gives the listener the feel of splashing through a shower of high hats with a giant umbrella of bass that slowly unfurls to protect John's delicate pad work and gorgeous synthesizer lines from the storm until the clouds roll away revealing a clear, new day.
