After nearly a decade of playing his favorite genres, Jack Carter has amassed an ever-growing arsenal of tunes that are rooted in minimal and techno then watered with tech , deep, and progressive house. Balancing the fine line that runs through each of his musical influences, Jack Carter masterfully merges all of his loves in the all-encompassing EP The Divine Comedy of Jack Carter out on Counterfeit Fun [December 15th, 2014].
The Divine Comedy of Jack Carter starts with the pulsating groove of Paradise. With scattered, misshapen vocal samples and eerie, atmospheric textures throughout, this Paradise is a dark one. Purgatory follows with softly muted percussion and a simple call-and-response melody that herolds like the tolling church bells at noon and dusk. Bringing the EP to a close is the dark stormer, and aptly titled, Hell. With oscillating risers that haunt you with a sinister grimace, layered over the quick shuffling of snares, this hell will definitely have a lot of dancing.
This EP is a great peek inside the artistic landscape of Jack Carter and we cant wait to see more.
