Fritz & Lang deliver two original cuts on Classic for their ‘Moonlighting’ EP, alongside a couple of kicking remixes from Dan Beaumont and James Curd. The fresh and multi-talented Parisian pair of Francois Stratigeas and Nicolas Stofenmacher make their Classic debut adding yet another exciting act to Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon’s ever-burgeoning label family. Luke himself said “the result is an irresistible duo performance bringing together live vocals, guitar, bass and vintage synths across two original productions, reminiscent of some of Classic early output and Playhouse duel releases.” For remix duty on this blistering four-track EP Solomon enlisted the services of recently named Classic resident Dan Beaumont and Greenskeepers Music man James Curd. EP opener ‘Moonlighting’ is a melodic cut sublimely crafted over oscillating tones and stripped back shifting percussion while ‘I Need Space’ meanders into a raw journey of all things funk with slapping bass guitar, arpeggiated keys and a sultry vocal. Dan Beaumont’s Pumpathon Dub of ‘I Need Space’ is a straight up house cut where robust kicks and harsh stabs dominate to dish up a no-nonsense jam for those dynamic dance floors. Classic stalwart James Curd embarks on a somewhat different but equally punchy route with bouncy tones and infectious bass really emphasising the catchy vocal hook to take you into the realms of raw disco freakery.
