Under no illusion close a hugely successful and productive year with their 25th release from Makanan and the 'Play it yourself EP'
Play it yourself with its monster baseline and hooky vocal should appeal to a wide range of djs as it sits nicely between house and tech house and would sound just as good in a sweaty back room as it would in a high capacity main one. David always retains the groove throughout and add simple stabs and fx to the production to make the track stand out.
Second track 'Dope' is exactly that . Pounding its way into your senses with its hugely infectious rhodes keys and clever use of percussion this time david makes a big play on the break with a spoken word vocal and panpipes sample.
'Gabrielito' takes things deep and into trackhead heaven with a ode to the old Angel moraes sound from back in the day. Its been made with early mornings in mind and for the djs who take the audience on journeys. Again as david breaks things their is a message to the music , subtle use of vocal samples lift the track and keep the groove interesting throughout.
the ep closes on 'Future' and what a track to Close on , Ki Creightons secret weapon over the summer and probably the track he has been asked about the most in his sets. Future with its very cool baseline led groove and subtle “Future” sample eases you into the vibe and leads you to a break of undeniable pleasure. Fans of Maceo Plex will lap this one up.
As UNI Close what is their first full year in business the label would like to thanks everyone for their continued support around the world on the releases . Back with a bang in 2015
