NRM05 | 2014-09-29
Gimme five! It's already the fifth release on Natural Rhythm Music and the
spotlight falls directly on the presence of long-time friend of Natural Rhythm, Classic Music and Great Lakes Audio artist Mikey Velazquez aka Mikey V. NRM05 is Jazz, Funky, Jacking and Deep all at the same time with a range of tracks that offer different flavors to different tastes. Hot on the heels of NRM04, the most critically successful NRM release to date, NRM05 is ready to rock.

Coming in first and fast, hometown Los Angeles hero Mikey V brings his trademark jacking beats and dance floor sensibility to a smoking remix of OP Jazz (Mikey V Remix). As the title suggests jazz elements ride through this one with butt shaking beats and bass as the backbone beneath. The early buzz on this track is hot. Thomas’ original mix of OP

Jazz is a chunky jazz number with some slick edits and drops to keep the floor moving, composed on the OP-1 Synth. The final two cuts on the EP come courtesy of Pete who unveils a whole new sound with Sense of Urgency and then goes a little bit back in time to the Natural Rhythm Live show days with This Go. Sense of Urgency has lovely textures and pads on top of tight editing and trademark swinging beats. This Go will give you Saturday Night Fever for sure with a bell bottom bass line, filtered disco love calls, a solid arrangement made for mixing and a sweet songbird vocal simmering in the atmosphere above the groove elements. With his spicy work here, you can’t help but start to understand why this man’s nickname is "Dr. Spice!"
