SKMK - the Italian duo of S!LK and APON %u2013 swiftly follow up their debut release from March with another four track EP for Lost My Dog, set to be released on 14th July. Their first EP Giving Up On You scored fans in DJ%u2019s Phil Weeks, X-Press 2, Mr V, Jay Tripwire and Giom, while picking up coverage from underground house blogs and radio, and the sophomore EP What A Night demonstrates that SKMK have plenty more to offer.
The deep house tracks incorporate a delicious blend of filtered and gritty synths, sublimely deep bass lines and percussion that snaps, crackles and pops along to create four swinging grooves. Having scored his first released with legendary German label Plastic City, one half
of the SKMK duo, S!LK, has impressed in recent months with releases on
Magnetic, NiteGrooves and Seamless Deep. Together in his new collaboration with APON, the pair are producing tracks that combine their collective love of hardware and vintage synths, taking in elements of classic West Coast bumping house combined with soulful chords and twisted vocal stabs.
