Kid Sublime%u2019s protégé J.A.N. attacks Amsterdam%u2019s house scene with his debut 12'.

Amsterdam based J.A.N. got inspired by local DJ%u2019s in the Amsterdam nightlife at early age. Soon he started DJ%u2019ing at the classic spot De Duivel, where he learned the art of DJ%u2019ing in front of a crowd.

While performing, he hooked up with fellow 'Amsterdammer' and DJ/producer Kid Sublime, who showed him the ropes of rocking a sampler. J.A.N. quickly caught the virus and invested in his own digital equipment, started digging for samples, and thereby widening his musical spectrum.

When Kid introduced J.A.N. to house music, he quickly felt drawn to the warm, deep sounds of the Detroit house scene. He describes his fusion style as B-Boy House, and incorporated this right back into his DJ sets. In one set he might start off with down tempo hip hop, like a Pete Rock or Slum Village record, and end up taking you right to the raw %u2019burbs of Detroit playing such artists as Theo Parrish or Moodymann.

Y%u2019all ready for some Amsterdam B-Boy house? Then get ready for J.A.N.%u2019s brand new debut 'The Weather EP' on Dopeness Galore.

'For the fans of that Amsterdam/Detroit sound, think the early works of Aardvarck/Rick Wade and you won%u2019t be disappointed!!' Kid Sublime: 'Yess! I am very proud my main man J.A.N is finally dropping his 1st ever 12'...nice basement B-Boy House music...deep and soulful..a very promissing future lies ahead for this youngbuck!'
