WPH NEW BEAT ALBUM | 2013-10-28
It's been a long time cooking and coming' WPH brings you a tribute to the biggest Belgian electronic music heritage'new beat! But this is no ordinary compilation that is just more recycling of things past. Just like in our regular releases WPH brings it fresh with respect to the past. And so it goes that Red D decided to ask a bunch of his favourite producers of new and old to make a new track inspired by Belgian new beat from the 80ies.
The result ' dare we say it ' is nothing short of astounding, with people from all over the house board bringing a fresh take on the genre, sometimes staying close to it, and sometimes moving away from it. And that is the very essence of new beat, a genre that had a name, but wasn't limited to one simple formula when done right.
Aboard on this are Juju & Jordash, JD Twitch, Metrobox, San Soda, Red D, Aril Brikha, Sebastien San, Jacques Renault, the Uncanny Valley crew led by Jacob Korn, Outlander & Social Disco Club. All of them chose a new beat alias for this occasion, which always was the tradition in the days of anonymous producers.
Worth noting is also that for the very first time WPH will have artwork that is full colour, also as a way of paying tribute to typical new beat artwork.
