Mr 'Fishing Vest' has been a tad quiet of late, as it's been almost a year since his much acclaimed debut 'New Slang EP' hit the download stores. In fact we'd heard a rumour that he was lost at sea, but we're very glad to inform you that he's alive 'n well and been very busy making more sublime Nu-Disco beats in his Philly based home-studio.
So let's move onto 'Just For Tonight', the much anticipated follow-up that features the vocal talent of the upcoming 'Patrick Baker'; a Nashville based singer-songwriter who's sultry vocals have been gracing many a recent Nu-Disco hit.
Well, the good news is that all you lovers of the 'New Slang EP' won't be disappointed, as 'Just For Tonight' continues with the trademark 'Fishing Vest' theme of quirky Caribbean harmonics over super compressed four-to-the-floor beats. In fact you could say that 'Fishing Vest' is the leader in this 'reggae tinged Disco sound'... and that's because he's the only one doing it... how cool is that!
And that's not all, as we have two killer remixes on offer from the high-flying 'Bronx' and 'Nine Lives'. 'Bronx' hit hard with a club friendly slice of piano based tropical heat, whilst 'Nine Lives' go all early 90s 'Gypsy Woman' house with organs and sub-basslines aplenty.
We think you'll agree that this EP has firmly put 'Fishing Vest' back on the Nu-Disco map... we hope you ENJOY! :o)
