Tribe is delighted to introduce a new track by Sakhile Devoted Mbatha, aka Devoted African Child. Sometimes known simply as Devoted, he is a rising South African producer who first came to our attention with 'On Fire' in 2011. This featured the talented songwriter and vocalist Kholi Twala, who's also based in Johannesburg, and the duo have teamed up again to produce 'Ngibizwa', a stonking deep house song with a gorgeous vocal sung by Kholi in Zulu and English.
'Ngibizwa' is a Zulu term meaning to be attracted or be drawn by someone (or to something), a sentiment that house crowds will definitely relate to. This emotive track builds beautifully, with percussion and backing vocals, guitar and keyboards backing a tale of a woman who has rekindled a long-lost love and is drawn back into the affair.
Kholekile Kholi Twala is set to release an album with Tribe Records and Rune's Remix Vocal foregrounds her rich soulful voice with an gentle guitar solo acting as a breakdown before the vocal bounces back.
Antonio Ocasio, who co-hosts the renowned WEPA parties in New York, brings a jazzy, piano-driven and radio-friendly mix that foregrounds the vocal in a mix that may not be peak time club banger but would work beautifully at the beginning or end of the night.
