Southern Fried Records continues its ten-year love affair with the highly talented Thomas Gandey, looking to his latest release, the superb 'Cube EP Volume 1' ...

Thomas Gandey should need little introduction to most. The Bordeaux based live artist, producer and DJ has been a key figure in electronic music for the last decade recording for labels such as Rekids, Get Physical, Saved and of course Southern Fried Records.

His skills as a producer have seen him working with artists such as David Byrne, Fatboy Slim and Tracey Thorn, he has collaborated with the likes of Radio Slave, Maxxi Soundsystem and Blond:ish whilst his abilities as a DJ have led to residencies at key events such as We Love Space, Razzmatazz and Womb.

At the heart of Thomas Gandey's musical direction is a passion for House music and it is this passion that is the driving force behind 'The Cube EP Volume 1'. The EP kicks off with 'All I Ever', a wonderfully deep House cut that fuses old school keys with shuffling rhythms and bobbing bass, topped off with subtle pitch shifted vocals for a classic heads down affair.

Next up we have 'The Drum Track (Drum Workout)' that takes a darker turn with its brilliantly intense electronic drum frenzy meeting some classic jazz elements in an electronic free for all, quality stuff.

The penultimate cut comes in the shape of 'In the Future', a beautifully emotive and uplifting track that pitches Gandey's ethereal vocals against a bass driven groove and some hand raising drops.

Finally we have 'San Sebastian', a deep yet techy and percussive House affair that provides a perfect closing opus to this solid package.

Thomas Gandey's name has long been synonymous with quality electronic music and this 4 track EP once again re-affirms his status as one of the planet's most interesting producers, enjoy!
