Originally released in 1970, the title cut from the Beatles last studio album "Let It Be" is one of the most endearing and covered songs in their incomparable catalog. Everyone from Aretha Franklin to Ray Charles to Jennifer Hudson to Gladys Knight to Justin Bieber has put their own unique spin on it. This iconic song has always been a fav of Groove Junkies' Evan Landes who has never shied away from producing the occasional cover and putting his own twist on things (i.e.; Harold Melvin's "Wake Up Everybody," Phyllis Hyman's "You Know How To Love Me" and most recently his critically acclaimed treatment of Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child"). The fact that no one ever attempted to produce a 'dance' version of "Let It Be" really intrigued him. The timeless message that the song conveys of not fighting things, going with the flow and knowing that in the end it will all work out also resonated on a personal level. Realizing that he was treading on sacred ground his mission was simple - treat the song with the respect it deserved and make it accessible to today's global dance community.

The idea had been marinating for a minute before Evan first approached singer extraordinaire and MoHo veteran Diane Carter in the summer of 2012. The two eventually linked up in late summer and knocked out 2 songs - one being "I'm Dying Inside," which came out in December of 2012 and the other "Let It Be." Diane's God given talent has never shined brighter than on both of these projects and in the end her distinct soulful, bluesy, Gospel tinged style turned out to be a perfect marriage with McCartney's poignant lyric and melody.

A few of Los Angeles' finest are being represented on the package which includes stellar mixes from Nimble Digits (Evan's newly adopted alias), Will 'Reelsoul' Rodriguez and Jerry Flores. It includes 6 stellar mixes (2 Vocal, 2 Instrumental, 1 Dub & 1 DJ Tool) that are primed to suit varied tastes for both the most discernable dance floors and Radio. ENJOY!!

TRACK DESCRIPTIONS:

Nimble Digits Nineties Touch Mix, Instrumental:

Using his 'Nimble Digits' moniker this time around, Evan's nod to the 90's approach on his mix captures the vibe of that era's sound, while bringing it forward to 2013. Complete with layered analogue bass, hints of 808 & 909 drums, atmospheric pads, deft synth work and Diane's heartfelt vocal - the coupling of his deep house roots with his soulful Groove Junkies style is a winning combo that should not only please ardent supporters, but new fans alike.

Reelsoul Sole Channel Mix & Instrumental:

Will 'Reelsoul' Rodriguez is no stranger to global house fans and tastemakers. His name says it all. Whether rockin' the 1's and 2's at some of the most exotic destinations & hottest venues throughout the planet, or producing highly charted original songs and remixes, he always delivers music that speaks to one's soul and has the innate ability to keep things simple & 'real.'Aside from his strong connection to the highly regarded Sole Channel imprint and longtime collaborators Mr V and Alix Alvarez, he's added to the output of such artists and labels as Jill Scott / Hidden Beach, Musiq Soulchild / Atlantic and Kimara Lovelace / King Street just to name a few. On "Let It Be" Reelsoul blesses us again with yet another masterful slice of the soulful house that he is known for. His tasty keyboard work and unexpected chord progression take you on a blissful journey and serve as the perfect backdrop to Diane's superb vocal performance.

Jerry Flores Diesel Dub & Diesel DJ Tool:

Los Angeles' favorite son Jerry Flores (West Coast Soul, Funky People) rounds out the package with a proper vocal dub beatdown that promises to keep bodies moving and house headz licking their chops for more. Jerry's vast musical knowledge and undeniable talent has afforded him opportunities to remix for labels such as Sole Channel, Bassline and Under My Skin and also flex his DJing muscles for LA institutions DEEP, Melodic and Auburn Events. Drawing upon influences from classic and deep house maestro's Kerri Chandler & MK, Jerry puts his own stamp on things with his treatment and hits the bull's-eye dead on! His usage of select lead and background vocals, coupled with a clever rhythmic cut up vocal hook, fits like a hand in glove with his 'garage-esque' drum bed & accompanying keys. His 'Diesel Tool' features the drum bed and cut up vox only to allow for some creative mixing & looping. Sleep at your own peril!
