This partnership between Leon (Italy) & Toky is the latest in a string of exciting new production talent that has been emerging from Italy over the past couple of years. With individual releases on labels such as Noir, Cecille, Electronique, Apparel and NM2 under their belts, their production credentials have skyrocketed over the past couple of years marking this collaboration as a definite one to watch for 2013. They are beginning to carve out what is a unique, soulful and electronic sound and this release delivers just that. This upbeat and upfront offering is packed full of party attitude and early 90’s vibes with its catchy layering of looping melodic basslines coupled with experimental 80’s video game inspired sounds, driving their way through to the soulful yet animated vocal hook. There’s enough kick and bounce and ‘in yer face’ attitude to get any party pumping. The Leon 909 Dub Mix takes it just a little bit darker with its distorted vocals and deeper bass line, yet the anticipatory build ups and lyrical synths still give it that early 90’s Italo house flavour.
