Red Star Arcade makes his debut appearance on Sidetrak Records to celebrate the first release since the labels re-launch. His 'Compassion Love' EP looks to establish his place among the deep tech house fraternity. He is joined on the EP with remixes from Off The Cuff who has releases to his name on Soulfuric Recordings, Defected in the House and Open Bar Music; Appo who boasts collaborations with the likes of Al Mckenzie (D:ream), Brandon Bloc, and Andy Roberts; Born 2 Groove (Dusted, Good Voodoo Music) and Deep C (Middlesbrough Arena, Groovebox Sessions)
The Original Mix from Red Star Arcade takes it's inspiration from grooves dropped by the likes of Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom on the terrace at DC10. Synth stabs from the Old Skool intertwine with chimes and deep syncopated bass. Subtle build-ups and drops provide the signals on the dancefloor and the simple spoken words point backwards to House Music's past.
The Off The Cuff Mix sees a slightly techier feel with a juggernaut bassline and a subtle, clever twist on the spoken elements. Appo's Alt Mix is a laid back affair with succinct instrumentation and a 2nd gear cruise on the groove. Born 2 Groove's Sunset Mix takes you to that famous sandy shore in San Antonio with cool Sax sounds and instrumentation to shake your cocktail to! Deep C's Cleveland Mix is a true dancefloor mix with plenty of contortions on the Original Mix but with a solid deep house personality of it's own to get heads down and moving to the commanding beat.
