Vega - Bahia

Continuing its quest to bring the world's most seductive, sensual and downright quality music to the masses, Vega Records presents 'Bahia', produced with love by Grammy Award-winner and label head Louie Vega.

The second in Vega Records' new series of tracks inspired by the musical landscapes of lands near and far, and following on from the Puerto Rican-inspired 'Ponce' of earlier this year, Louie Vega now presents a smooth, rolling track inspired by the Bahia region of Northeast Brazil, commonly referred to as the 'African Soul' of Brazil and the country's home of Afro-Brazilian culture.

It is here, in the tropical northeast of this music and dance-crazy country, where the African-inspired religion of Candomble enjoys a huge following and where the Afro-Brazilian dance capoeira remains a daily part of life.

Bahia is a region stepped in history and culture and one where - from the pulsing centre of Salvador's Pelourinho to the peaceful beaches of Arembepe - the music-obsessed people live their lives to an inherent rhythm, the same rhythm contained in Vega Records' 'Bahia'.

Powerful drums, strings, eclectic instrumentation and an electronic edge make 'Bahia' a rolling masterpiece. Perfect to layer that accapella over or just to bounce to, 'Bahia' is as Brazilian as Samba and Carnivale, and will prove just as difficult to abstain from.

Vega Records continues to push the boundaries in releasing innovative, adventurous music that knows no cultural boundaries. From the lush landscapes of Brazil to the Caribbean archipelago of Puerto Rico to the crowded streets of New Jersey, the imprint continues to win praise for its efforts in spreading beautiful music worldwide, of which 'Bahia' is just the latest example.

Don't sleep on this fantastic new release from Vega Records
