Domestic Science is keyboard wizard Jamie Odell's second long-player to date, following the debut Messages from the Hub. Domestic Science looks set to establish Jamie's position alongside the new breed of electronic future-jazz innovators such as Mark De Clive-Lowe, Hefner and Phil Asher. His early Eps brought acclaim from such luminaries as Mixmaster Morris, Tom Middleton and Kirk Degiorgio and his debut album successfully crossed many boundaries with radio support coming from Robert Elms, Patrick Forge, Gilles Peterson and Mike Chadwick. Rapidly forging a name for himself as a leading producer in this burgeoning scene, he soon found himself remixing and producing for the likes of Lamb, Airto and Coldcut. Knowing no musical boundaries his new album once again comes as a complete package spanning many styles. Check out the heartfelt ballads such as the Robert Wyattesque State of Mind and Flourescent Blue, or the deep house trips of Deep Down and Knuckle Shuffle, or the fat 80s inspired jazz funk of Closer to You and Groove Jumping. Introspective and Pixel Grain inject air into yer boots for some serious zero gravity moon-walking. In this album Jamie manages to marry the future perfectly with the jazz and funk traditions of the past.
