The original Joey Negro mix of ‘Love Hangover’ is widely regarded one of his finest moments and though never properly released, it is still an instant floor filler in pretty much any club, small or large throughout the world.
Obviously the original of ‘Love Hangover’ is a gone clear classic, but it’s not one of those over played disco tracks you groan when you hear... With such fantastic strings, bass and guitar parts its hard not to nod your head, whatever your musical preference is nowadays.
So for Z 100, Mr Lee has recreated and revamped his classic version now with vocals from Diane Charlemagne (Goldie, Satoshie Tomie, 4Hero, Moby). The main Joey Negro Club Mix starts with just vocals and that classic guitar line and is unashamedly pure un-gimmicky disco with great chunky strutting drums underneath the killer bass line. As you can imagine the ‘Luv 2 Dub’ makes lots of use of delays. The Rodox Mix keeps the disco drums but with a more druggy vibe, almost like an old Murk track.
DJ Spen has created a slamming new update that twists ‘Love Hangover’ into something that truly deserves to be called real "disco tech"....think Dennis Ferrer meets Chic and you get the vibe. If you are looking for vocal records you can play in a techy set, then here is one for you…
