New Yorker Anthony Galante - aka 'antfactor' - has been producing electronic music since he was 16. Influenced by the likes of Robert Fripp and Tangerine Dream, his later interests in 90's acid-house and techno was a natural extension. With prior releases on Analog, Serotonin, C&S and Spelunk Recordings, 'antfactor' brings a minimally-inspired yet richly orchestrated blend for his latest release on Wavetec.
"Lazarus" is a tight mixture of romantic German techno and New York edged tech-house. Deep, spacey synth pads warm up and shimmer over acidy and dark-driving beats for a huge dance-floor sound. This energetic gem brings to mind the vastness of classics such as "Bladerunner" and "2001: A Space Odyssey" - perfect for those jocks looking to fill out their sets with some heady cosmic bliss.
The 2nd remix by NYC-based David Last expands upon this idea - pulling in Caribbean inspired percussion and electro-tribal elements with beautiful organic treatments. David's "Pocket Pet" mix can easily top all those reprints of 80's electro disco with a fresh new "hard-bump" sound. Garnering fantastic reviews David Last's recent solo release, "The Push Pull" can be found on The Agriculture label.
