John drops the first Haus'Flor EP of 2008! HFW0011 - the "Nite Life EP" is a wonderfully "Housey" recording released in the Haus'Flor tradition of active, beautiful songs wrought with focussed composition and pumping, danceable beats.
"Bolo (Song For James)" opens the EP with a no-nonsense, churning funk, filled with wild percussion and shocking synths. It later transitions into a bright, uplifting volley of pianos and rolling, bass that screams celebration!
The title track, "Nite Life", is a smooth, low-key, but uptempo floor filler. Its signature 16-bar bassline pulls you gently through the song's jazzy paces. A beautiful mix of acoustic and electric instrumentation to make for a marvelous House cut.
Finally, "The Moment of Brightness" is, as its name suggests, a stark and shining tunes that leaps right out at you. It's hard charging bassline, funk guitars and bright synths are a dazzling combination and make for a memorable song.
