MICHELE CHIAVARINI

Multi-instrumentalist maestro Michele Chiavarini's career as a composer, songwriter, producer, remixer, session musician, arranger and sound designer, spans over 30 years. Classically trained in piano, guitar, composition, orchestration and conducting, Michele is also an accomplished bass player, string, horn arranger and even vibraphone player.

A truly masterful programmer and experienced engineer, he has been involved in all sorts of music genres, from Pop to Dance, Soul/RnB to Hip-Hop, Jazz to Latin music, etc., with international chart success. He also writes extensively for television, advertising and film, with a very impressive list of clients.

Michele has recorded for Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Philip Bailey, Seal, Simply Red, Moby, Lemar, Soul II Soul, Gabrielle, film composer A. R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) and many more. Since 2021, Michele has also become a voting member of the Grammys.

In the realm of house music, he was initially known as a session musician, keyboard, bass, guitar player and programmer on hundreds of productions by some of the top DJs in the world. Among many, Dave Lee ZR (a.k.a. Joey Negro), DJ Spen, Seamus Haji, Mark Wilkinson, Danny Rampling, Mark Knight, Robert Owens, ATFC, Booker T, Bobby & Steve, DJ Disciple, Diane Charlemagne, Victor Simonelli, Luciana Caporaso, Booty Luv and many more. Plus long time friends Andre Espeut, Tyrone Lee, Pete Simpson, Rachel McFarlane, Samantha Smith, Lauraine Mcintosh, etc.

Michele came onto his own in 2014, when he released the smash "Let Me See You (Clap Your Hands)" through DJ Spen and Thomas Davis' Quantize Recordings.
Together with DJ Spen, Michele has secured the number 1 spot in the Billboard's Dance Club Song Chart, with the remix of Donna Summer's classic "Hot Stuff", which is also featured in the Broadway musical about the legendary artist.
Other hits include various Traxsource #1 remixes, like David Morales "Believe", Rhemi's superb "Diamond", Black Motion's anthemic 'Rainbow'.


On his own, he has remixed many legendary international artists, like Cece Peniston, Melba Moore, Ann Nesby, Byron Stingily, SuSu Bobien, D. Tallman, Kathy Brown, jazz sensation Jarrod Lawson, Josh Milan, Mickey More & Andy Tee 'Philly Sensation', and Lifford Shillingford etc. They also regularly collaborate on the production of Quantize regulars, S.E.L., Sheila Ford and Tracy Hamlin.

In the early 2000s Michele was one of the main writers on the hugely successful dance-chillout Jakatta album Visions (MoS) scoring 3 UK Top 10s (American Dream, So Lonely, My Vision featuring Seal), and many other Dave Lee projects including Raven Maze (2 UK Top 10s), Akabu, Doug Willis and Sessomatto. He is also a lead co-writer on many of Dave Lee's 'The Sunburst Band' albums, as well as playing keys and helping arranging brass and strings.

Michele is also known for other monikers, such as the Latin-influenced 'Nova Fronteira' and the jazz-inspired 'The Jazzcodes', which have released music on Z Records, Quantize Recordings and Seamus Haji's Big Love.

For the past 2 years, he has become a key collaborator in the creative powerhouse that is Revival Records, led by producer/mixer James F Reynolds, superstar DJ Mousse T, singer Peyton and dance outfit Soul Avengers.

In late 2019, together with Fernanda Reis, he has launched Spry Records, a record label which has become known and respected for the quality of its releases.

Michele is famous for the musicality of his style and productions. Combined with his own vast music catalogue, knowledge and experience, this is constantly reinforcing his status as a go-to musician, composer, producer, remixer and overall music factotum.
